The year summed up before members and guests, the difficulties said plainly, certificates for those who ran study circles — and cake for six years, from Åstorp to Helsingborg.
Yesterday, Saturday 20 December 2025, Sadda Kulturförening closed its year of work, with the association's members and its guests present, in a meeting marked by a spirit of cooperation and of pride in what had been achieved over the past year.
The gathering was a point at which to review the association's road, to stand at the main achievements, to discuss the difficulties, and to set out the shape of the stage ahead — starting from a belief in how much shared cultural and social work matters.
The difficulties. Over the past year the association met difficulties in limited financial means, in a shortage of volunteers at times, and in questions of organisation and coordination, along with the need to strengthen contact and reach a wider part of the community. Even so, cooperation and a team spirit were the main things in getting past them.
Sadda — six years of giving. The association also marked six years since it was founded, from its beginning in Åstorp, where it left a distinct mark on community work, through to its move to Helsingborg. Despite the little support at the start, the human aim was the reason to carry on, and today Sadda grows with its members and those who care for it. Those present shared the association's gladness by cutting a cake for the occasion.
The evening opened with a word from the secretary, Fatema Tamour, and held a word from the chair, Rabaa Rahal; a word from Asma Sheikh Attieh, representing Studiefrämjandet; and a word from Ibtesam Alzaanin, representing the Arab Women's Union. Everyone who had given a study circle was honoured, and certificates of appreciation were handed out in recognition of their work.
Sadda offers its thanks to everyone present, to the board, the members and the working team, to the associations that answered our invitation and to the institutions that support us: the Arab Women's Union in Sweden, Studiefrämjandet, the Friends of Helsingborg association, Mitt Speciella Barn, the Al-Siraj association, and Jobbstjärnan – Rusta och Matcha. Great thanks to Rasha Turki, who kept the record of these fine moments in pictures, and to everyone who came and shared the evening with us.
