The annual meeting on 23 March 2025 with participants from several countries, followed by a Ramadan evening of traditions, song, henna and a storyteller.
On 23 March 2025 the association held its annual meeting, with women from a number of different countries present, in an atmosphere full of participation and constructive discussion.
The meeting opened with a word of welcome and an emphasis on how much the members' part matters in developing the association and strengthening what it does. The activities of 2024–2025 were reviewed, with the main achievements and the difficulties both set out. A new board was elected so the work could continue with renewed energy, and new members joined — a sign of the association's reach and of its ability to draw in more of those interested in its work.
After the meeting the members gathered for a warm Ramadan evening, where a spirit of familiarity and cultural exchange took hold. There was talk of Ramadan customs and traditions in different countries, which made a fine chance to learn about that variety; traditional songs that gave the evening its own character; henna; and a storyteller whose tale, drawn from the heritage, brought the evening to a close.
Our thanks go to Studiefrämjandet for its support and its part in making the event work; to the Zamzam shop for the gifts for the Ramadan competition; to Darraji sweets for a contribution that delighted those present; to Dahab supermarket; to Oulas Beauty salon, which gave free cutting and blow-dry sessions to several of the winners; to Rabaa Rahal, who gave free facial sessions to several of the winners; and to our friend Muhannad for the decoration that gave the evening its look.
The day was a fine chance to strengthen the ties between the members and to affirm how much cultural and social contact matters. We thank everyone who came and helped, and we look forward to more gatherings like it.
